Mail Services Award Ceremony

The Office of Mail Services was presented with the Ralph Yaytes Golden Stamp of Approval Award at a ceremony in the Sottile Theatre.

The College and University Mail Services Association (CUMSA) has honored the College of Charleston Office of Mail Services team with the Ralph Yates Golden Stamp of Approval Award as well as recognized staff member Jennifer Gillispie with the CUMSA Outstanding Team Member Award. Members of Campus Services recently gathered in the Sottile Theatre to celebrate their mail services colleagues.

“I am so proud of the mail services team,” says Kenny Greene, director of mail services. “Their skills and their level of professionalism, dependability and flexibility is what makes not just our mail center run smoothly – but our entire campus’s operations run smoothly. This team is very deserving of this award.”

The Ralph Yates’ Golden Stamp of Approval Award was established to recognize the accomplishments of CUMSA members’ operational units and to share innovative ideas with other members of the association. The award recognizes the mail services team’s efforts to continually improve the operation and efficiency of the mail center.

And, with its recent renovations, the addition of Amazon Lockers as well as passport services, the College of Charleston mail center certainly fits the bill for the award, which it last received in 1999. Likewise, says Greene, there is no better person to receive the CUMSA Outstanding Team Member Award than Gillispie, who has been serving as a postal clerk at the College for 10 years.

“Jennifer truly amazes me on how dedicated she is to our operation. She displays a very strong work ethic and takes great pride in her work,” says Greene. “She takes the time out to know all of her customers and is very attentive to their needs. She is a true team player, and one that others should model.”

Gillispie was given a plaque at the ceremony, where her hard work and commitment were recognized with the CUMSA Outstanding Team Member Award. This award recognizes a person who has gone beyond their normal work duties and has been an example for others to follow, making a major impact in their mail center.
